  • The 8 Best Bars in Dalat, Vietnam

Da Lat may be a popular stop for nature and coffee lovers on Vietnam’s tourist trail, yet it is lacking slightly when it comes to its nightlife. Despite its more quiet appeal, there are a few fantastic bars that have sprung up in the past few years.

    Dalat Wonder Resort13

    13 CAFÉ BAR

13 Café Bar Da Lat is a cozy little place with retro furniture, potted plants and colorful antiques decorating the room. The menu spreads its pages between cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and delicious finger food. Cocktails here are notoriously strong — rumor has it they’re 99% alcohol with just a splash of mixer. Prices are also reasonably cheap at less than USD $1 for a local beer. A glass of wine comes at 35,000 VND (USD $1.5).

    LE SELECT BAR

Le Select Bar is located in the main lobby of the Du Parc Hotel, with large bay windows overlooking the beautiful rolling green hills of Da Lat. The bar is stocked with premium wines and liquors, headed by expert mixologists who shake and stir up A-grade cocktails, customizable to your taste. During the day, Le Select Bar serves a selection of coffee, tea and snacks.

    B21 BEER

B21 Beer is a local favorite, attracting fun-loving crowds looking for a night of cheap drinks and good times. Your standard cocktails and beers are offered on tap, with buy-one-get-one-free promos during happy hours that last from 3pm to 8:30pm daily. The atmosphere remains rather quiet during these hours, but around 10pm the bar suddenly gets very crowded – as does the dance floor. Shisha is available.

    LE COSY BAR

Le Cosy Bar at Dalat Palace Heritage Hotel is perfect for a quieter night out or special date with your significant other. The décor exudes a regal atmosphere with crystal chandeliers, pale wooden paneling, leather sofas and French windows overlooking a lush garden and the Xuan Hong Lake. The menu is extremely good (but a little on the pricey side).

SECRET – COFFEE & BAR DA LAT

Secret – Coffee & Bar Da Lat is a stylish speakeasy perfect for spending a couple of hours on a rainy Da Lat day. Live music happens every Saturday from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. Drinks-wise, beers are priced from 30,000 VND (USD $1.50), and signature cocktails at 80,000 VND (USD $3.45). Culture Trip highly recommends the milk tea cocktail and lavender-infused gin.

    V’CLUB

With pumping dance rhythms, flashy neon lights and cheap alcohol, V’Club is the place everyone mentions for a fun night out in town. This popular bar/club is run by an American-Vietnamese couple who know how to cater to both foreign and local tastes. The drink list is as extensive as the food menu with local and Western favorites including pizza, tacos and vegetarian options, all at reasonable prices. Live music events happen regularly.

    LARRY’S BAR

This upscale bar is located in the basement of the Dalat Palace Hotel, decorated in a manner that makes you feel as if you’re walking into a wine cellar. The bar has a legendary reputation: it’s named after Larry Hillblom, an American billionaire businessman, instrumental to turning Da Lat into the up-market resort getaway it is today. The bar is great for playing some bar games while munching on pub grub and enjoying a cocktail or two. Private corners make this a great place for a quiet date.

    MAZE BAR

    MAZE BAR

Maze Bar, also known as the 100 Roofs Café, is situated unassumingly amongst a row of small shop-houses in the heart of the city. You will never guess from the outside that this bar is a mystical labyrinth of sorts: A maze of twists and turns, with little rooms and hang-out corners spread out inside its five floors, all connected by dark passageways and spiraling staircases. Café by day and bar by night, Maze Bar is a fantastic place to spend a couple of hours getting lost and exploring the little nooks and crannies. A must-try for all newcomers is the locally brewed beer.
